wedding planning from a man's perspective

About Me

wedding planning from a man's perspective

As a man, I know next to nothing about planning a wedding. My fiancée and I agreed that we would work together to plan our wedding. She provided me with a long list of things that I was to do independently, a list that she was going to take care of, and a list that we would work on together. The minute she handed me these three sheets of paper, I knew that we were in for a long six months. That was when I started talking to her about hiring someone to help us with the planning of our wedding. Visit our blog to find out how we worked together with a planner to make our day the best it could be.

3 Reasons To Choose An Indoor Reception Location

When it comes to looking for a wedding reception venue, such as at Gold Canyon Golf Resort and Spa, you likely have a lot of great options. However, one choice that you must make is whether or not you want your wedding reception venue to be located indoors or outdoors. This will make a huge difference for your reception, so it is very important that you make the choice that you feel works best for both you and your fiancé. There are a lot of benefits and reasons why an indoor reception location may be best for you. This article will discuss 3 reasons why.

Full Access To Electricity

One issue that you can run into when you have an outdoor reception is limited electricity. This can make it difficult to have any kind of sound system for speaking, singing, playing music, etc. Since this is a big part of most receptions, it is definitely something that you will want to consider. You will also need to consider if light will be an issue once it gets dark outside because you don't want all of your guests to be stuck in the dark. If you choose an indoor reception location, you will have plenty of electricity to have videos playing, music playing, movies, slideshows, and whatever else you'd like.

Weather Isn't An Issue

No matter how hard you try to plan your wedding reception the weather may not cooperate with you. It is impossible to know what the weather will be like on your wedding day when you actually schedule it, so the best you can do is watch the weather when the week of your wedding rolls around and hope for the best. If you choose to go with an indoor venue instead, then the weather won't matter at all. This is nice for you because you don't have to worry about finding a backup location if the weather is bad, or worry about things blowing away, getting wet, melting in the heat, etc.

Parking

It is very important that all of the guests who attend your wedding reception have a place where they can park. This can sometimes be an issue when you choose an outdoor wedding venue because it likely isn't an area that a lot of people normally visit. In contrast, when you choose in indoor location, it will have a formal parking lot with plenty of space for your guests to park. They also likely won't have to walk far to get to the reception, which is preferable since most will be in nice clothing.
